Context:

While on a bus ride back to Denver after visiting New Mexico, about and hour away from the northern NM border, I noticed that the horizon and the surrounding landscape began illuminating a weird shade of light green. It wasn't enough to appear unnatural, after all it was the summer and the grass is about as green as it would get all year, but it really caught my eye. Along the highway, I-25 I believe, there are hardly any distinct land marks or roads, and continues in all directions except west for as far as the eye can see.

When my bus had to slow and move onto the shoulder for an oncoming oversized load trailer, I snapped this photo, and it has stuck with me. This place is so quiet and vast, it makes me understand why some people who live in the desert and great plains have claimed to see supernatural events, because a place like this is so empty and uneventful that any seemingly out of place activity cannot be brushed off as something else. Anything that happens in a place like this stands out with such great contrast yet also is so isolated that it would be hard to convince anyone of it.

The other photos I have posted on this subreddit have been obscure images that I have had to dig for by using, for example, Yandex. This photo however is mine and it has so much more strangeness to it by knowing that I was in the environment myself.
