I’m a new MOTU collector whose first He-Man was the Chronicles figure after LOVING the movie. I got impatient waiting for the Chronicles Teela, who to my knowledge isn’t carried in any big retail stores yet and has an Amazon ship date in September. But the other day, I saw on IG that somebody had bought one at the Mattel store in El Segundo, CA, which I’m not too far from…

I was delighted to discover that they have PLENTY of Teelas, Scare Glows, Ram Mans, and even a couple of the new He-Man variants! They even had a promotion where $30+ on MOTU products got you a free collector’s cup (which I didn’t qualify for because I only came for Teela).

My only gripe is that Mattel has GOT to get their QC issues under control. Many of the Teelas had weird paint/sculpt issues, specifically on her faces. Even the one I brought home had some gold paint missing from her sword. I was tempted to pick up one of the new He-Men, but both of the ones in stock had paint-chipped iron crosses. Really hope they get this under control because otherwise these figures have really impressed me.

If you’re a Chronicles collector and near the LA area, I’d say it’s worth the drive. Just make sure you inspect your figures carefully before taking them to the register! Happy to finally add Teela to the collection! She’s gorgeous in hand!

Day Trip to the Mattel Store!
