General Rant
I’ve been following this subreddit for a while, and honestly, it’s been disappointing.
It feels like a lot of people aren’t actually here to find a spouse. Instead, many conversations seem to revolve around attention, flirting, or simply wasting each other’s time. On top of that, there are so many anonymous accounts that it’s hard to know who’s genuine anymore. Sometimes it even makes me wonder if some profiles are fake, created just to entertain themselves, collect screenshots, make fun of people who reach out, or potentially misuse private conversations later. Whether that’s happening or not, the lack of trust it creates is real.
I’ve been away from Pakistan for over 10 years, and looking at things from a distance has only reinforced what I believe is one of our biggest societal problems: we struggle to be honest with each other. We often say we want commitment, but our actions don’t always reflect it. Instead of treating marriage as something meaningful, too many people seem to treat it like entertainment.
Of course, there are sincere people here, and I genuinely hope they find what they’re looking for. But after seeing so much of the same behavior, I’ve reached a point where I’m simply done investing my time in people who aren’t serious.
If you’re here looking for a real marriage built on honesty, respect, and commitment, I wish you nothing but the best. I just hope we can eventually create a culture where sincerity is valued more than attention.
& I don’t have a question, it wouldn’t let me post unless I chose a flair.
