Agency nursing in Australia, is the flexibility actually worth it, or does the uncertainty do your head in?
I've been thinking about switching from my permanent hospital gig to agency nursing. The idea of picking my own shifts and taking time off when I want sounds amazing, but I'm genuinely worried about not knowing if I'll have work next week. I've been looking at agencies that have shifts everywhere, but I'm still on the fence.
For nurses who've made the jump: do you actually feel in control of your schedule, or does the uncertainty just swap one type of stress for another? Keen to hear the good and the ugly.
