Getting frustrated
I've been into drones for a long time. I started out back in 2016 with a Syma X5C and stuff like that. Later on, I got into DJI and FPV drones. I absolutely loved the 5-inch FPV quad I had, but unfortunately, I had to sell it.
A few months ago, I got the itch to get back into FPV, so I built another 5-inch. On the very first day out, the quad suddenly lost RX link, went down, and caught fire. Total loss, nothing was salvaged.
Even though I was super frustrated, I still wanted to keep flying, so I bought an Air65. I chose it mainly because people recommended it and I read it was basically indestructible. First day flying it, and somehow the antenna got chopped in half. Fine, I bought a replacement. Then, a motor wire came unsoldered mid-air. Alright, I resoldered it. But then it happened to ALL the motors. They just keep coming unsoldered! I ignored it and kept going. Then one day I go out to fly and the video feed is just a grey screen. The camera wires had come unsoldered too. I fixed them, but two packs later, they came loose again. I soldered them back up and secured them with phone glue.
Now, I take the drone out and one motor won't spin. Perfect. I tried fixing it, got it spinning, but then I lost the C-clip. I ordered a new one, waited forever for it to arrive, popped it on, and now it doesn't work at all. I bought another motor, put it on today, went out to fly, ripped a couple of packs without any issues, and suddenly: RX LOSS. Sometimes the radio connects, but as soon as I take off, the quad starts acting crazy until it failsafes.
I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I'm torn between pushing through or just giving up. Every single time I fly, the drone feels like it just breaks itself. I've barely gotten any actual flight time.
Has anyone dealt with a sudden RX LOSS like this without crashing first?
