Bought an April Brewer, Have Some Issues with Fast Drawdown Coffees
Bought an April Brewer few days ago and the first coffee i tried was a Kenyan washed coffee. It was a 3-4 min brewing time with something like 1.36 TDS and i really liked the taste.
Today i tried two other coffees from Honduras and Indonesia (natural and anaerobic). Both are coffees with fast drawdowns. Although i used Kalita 155 filters (which are slower than April filters) and the taste was not very bad, i had lower TDS because their drawdown was fast mostly. My grind was 6 or 7 on Timemore Sculptor 078 which is medium-fine. Temp was 93. TDS was 1.2 and similiar to that in other coffee.
I always used 12 grams of coffee. Tried one coffee with 2 equal pours and the other with 3 equal pours.
I don't think very small pours would be very suitable for April dripper because it has a quite big diameter and it's hard to saturate all coffee.
Do you think April brewer with original recipe is not suitable for coffees like this? How would you approach the situation?
