Sorry just needed to gush about my little brother

Family & Relationships (Mon-Thu)

Ok soooo my(22) brother is 12 years old and this is pretty much an appreciation post cause he made me realise i am not too much from asking for bare minimum. (Might be a bit too long sorry)

My family is pretty toxic and I had it made it my sole mission to raise him to be a good boy and i realised i actually succeeded. Here are somethings he did or said -

  1. I was watching ZNMD last year. He started to watching too. After the movie finished, in a serious voice he asked me, "Why did the hate Natasha? Kabir is the one who was getting married even tho he didn't want to. She was just trying to be a good wife. And why should she be ok with her fiance carrying someone?"

2)We watched Dil Dhadakne Do a few months ago and he said I am never letting you get married and if you get married and he behaves like this then he should remember I am learning boxing

3)Ma put too much salt in food one day and i was complaining. He simply said well i don't know how to cook, she's feeding me so I will shut up and eat whatever i am given. (He cooked his first omlette today)

  1. stopped talking to one of his favourite seniors because that guy was hitting on 2 girls at the same time

5)cries anytime he reads about things happening to women because he thinks about me in that place. There was a time when I was supposed to move out and he used to cry every day to me cause he was worried I will go out and I will never come back.

6)if ma ever makes any unnecessary comments blaming women, he's ready to oppose first in line.

  1. whenever we are walking on street he always makes sure I am away from the street and no man is staring at me and if they are he's staring right back

8)asks me to teach him how to cook, braid hair, pleat sarees cause what if his wife can't? So he needs to learn for both of them.

  1. whenever I am sick or have a headache he's right there helping me through it. If I am on my periods he will get me chocolates, offer to get me whatever I could possibly need.

  2. whenever anyone asks how beautiful his future girlfriend should be, he replies she needs to be kind and honest first

  3. always asks me and ma if we have eaten, always, never misses a single time even if we are fighting. And if someone got something less, you best believe he will give you his food.

12)so like every Indian father, our father woke up early, woke ma up and asked for tea. Now Sunday is the only day she can sleep in so she got a bit pissed. Bhai immediately woke up and told Baba just because you like waking up early and want tea doesn't mean she has to. You have 2 hands don't you?

And honestly these are just some of the things that come to mind. Looking at him makes me realise if men wanted to understand and actually care about us they would. Even my 12 year old brother can understand these things and empathize, then what's stopping men from actually treating us like humans and not objects.

I really hope he stays this way.
