Beginner confusion
So I've decided after years of wanting to try but never having the courage to. That i want to step into acting.
I have no formal training, not even from high school. But throughout my life the wanting to never went away. After going through multiple things rebuilding g from bad life choices the though of acting was still there to the point I found my self studying actors techniques and the way the do things more so than actually enjoying the story line. So ive decided I want to try to do something i might have a real passion for. But never did out of fear.
I live in Youngstown OH and there are multiple theaters out here that im open to going to classes for. Though I personally would like to learn screen acting and go to an actual school for it at this point i just want to try it out in any sense.
Though I am trying to look into classes most of what im finding is workshops. Because I am such a beginner I want as much of solid foundation I can get.
Does anyone have advice on if I should just jump into workshops or maybe pursue actual virtual classes to dip my feet in. I prefer to try in person to get comfortable performing in front of people and be able to talk to people and be more hands on. Or maybe anyone familiar with the area who has experience with the things out here.
I look at the community guidelines and tried to follow the advice given there but I think im over analyzing things and tangling myself I different thought processes.
Thankyou in advance.
