Upgraded from a cheapish 34 inch Phillips to a 45 inch LG Ultragear GX9... The 34 had 0 black bars for movies, the 45 has an entire black box, any help?

One of the main reasons I went Ultrawide in the 1st place was to get full screen movies on movies shot in a wider than 16:9 format

John Wick for example ran with 0 black bars on my 34 inch monitor, but the 45 inch not only has black bars on the top and bottom, but the sides too, at best I'm maybe getting the experience of a 38? Inch screen on my 45 inch screen.

The settings tells me I can zoom in only there's no zoom option anywhere.

I should preface this is on an actual 4K blu ray player and 4K discs, on my PC I can just use VLC and force the aspect ration to fill the screen. But I cannot at all find a way to do this on the 4K player.

I'm aware the picture quality may be worse doing this, but I wanna judge if it's worse than having 6 inches of black box ya know?

Anyone know how to just do a simple zoom? Been in the settings on and off all day in case I was overlooking something simple, but all it lets me choose is 21:9 and all that does is stretch the image out so freaking badly cause it only stretches the picture lengthways.
