Is it too late? Finished 1L and didn't do so hot.
Hey everyone,
Started off 1L at a T70 school that's good regionally, but due to legal issues with my landlord right before exams during 1L Fall, I did terrible that semester. I brought my GPA up to a 3.2 during Spring.
I attend a private school and CoA is really bad. I'm also not interested in practicing in that state upon graduation, and only chose the school since outcomes were good in the states I was considering practicing in (DC, NYC, TX). I struck out badly on biglaw and I want to be closer to home. I hate my classmates and the situation in the city my school is in isn't great (my car got broken into twice), bad crime rates, horrible infrastructure. I only attended since I was awarded a 60% scholarship which made it much more palatable (I'm still likely to graduate with $150k in loans).
Is it worth transferring during 2L? I got onto a journal too but every bit of advice I've gotten is that it doesn't really matter as much in the long run. I'm also interested in public service (think fed/AUSA work).
