Glucose levels and heat
I’m still relatively new to T1D (diagnosed at 26 in October 2025) and am really struggling to keep my glucose levels up during the high temperatures we’ve been having in the UK. I work a trade and am always on my feet, moving around, and that and the heat has been causing my glucose levels to crash down really low. I’m still on injections and have more than halved my basal and fast acting doses. Should I just not take any at all? At moment I’m taking 1 shot of basal per day and a ratio of 1/20 of fast acting per meal but I’m still going low constantly. Working on site it’s not just annoying but also potentially dangerous when using construction equipment and tools. I’ll speak to my diabetes team tomorrow as it’s really getting to me but just looking for any advice.
