Color Change

Has anyone successfully changed the color on their boots? I have been looking for Rio in black but have not found anything. I was wondering if it is possible to change a brown pair to black. It seems it would be much more complicated than simply putting black polish over brown. Somehow, it would need to modify the underlying dye color. Is it even possible?
