Ridge Camp water status? Also ideas for Plan B (details below)

Have a permit Saturday night for Ridge Camp in Mt Margaret backcountry. There are some recent trail reports on WTA that mention it's a dry trail, but it's not clear to me that they are referring to the water source that I understand is 1/4 mile from the Camp site and a bit off trail. Anyone been there recently?

Relatedly, I see some trip reports mention an eroded section around Blastzone Butte. Originally the plan was to a counter clockwise loop starting at Hummocks and spending the night at Ridge Camp and then having an easy exit the next day. But I'm hesitant to do that if I may want to bail at the eroded section. Anyone done that section lately able to describe it? Is it very ledge like now?

As a plan B, would you advise doing a loop around Coldwater Lake or just going straight to Ridge Camp in the hopes we'll feel ok doing the eroded section without our full packs and do an out and back to Coldwater Peak? Thanks!
