How to make a "levitating" effect?

Hello, I've been trying to use the camera shake for creating a levitating effect (which is basically the clip moving only up and down) but i couldn't make it, it just shakes both vertically and horizontally. I'm doing the effect manually with the keyframes for now but it's a tedious job so I was wondering if there was a quicker way to do it, thanks
