Thinking MoCa

Advice

I'm not super tech savvy. Seems simple enough from afar for me but whenever I've tried messing with my routers that I've had over the years, it's gone from a "this will take me 5 minutes babe" to me trying not to throw the router out the window over an hour later. I am currently dealing with the motorola shenanigans right now with my ax6000 router that we've had for a few years so we are looking to get a new one and I am liking the idea of an Asus router.

I have a two story 1250 sq ft house with two coax access points, one on each floor (one on the side of the house and the other on the back of the house). I just found out about MoCa adapters and I'm thinking this would be a good way to get the kids to stop complaining about the crappy wifi signal upstairs. Our router is in the living room downstairs and it struggles to get upstairs with sheetrock walls. If I understand the science correctly, I would plug the coax cables into their adapters and run the ethernet cable from the downstairs adapter into my router and an ethernet cable from the upstairs adapter into a wifi extender to give the upstairs similar speeds to downstairs.

There's 6 of us in the house with 2-4 of us gaming at a time, multiple streaming devices, and ring cameras. We get 1gb internet from our provider, which is apparently more than I need but I'm fine with having more than less and it's affordable for us.

I'm just looking for input because everytime I look into this stuff, my head spins. It's like thinking I know about guns, and other people start naming components I've never heard of. Thanks in advance
