Booting up into BIOS

HARDWARE

Hi everyone, I've been having an issue with my PC lately. This started back in May, the PC would only boot up into the BIOS on startup. I seemed to only be able to fix it by turning on CSM and then it would boot up properly. Then the PC would yell at me for having it turned on, so after a couple of days I set it back to UEFI and that seemed to fix it. But only for about a month.

At the start June it started happening again, only this time changing to CSM didn't solve the issue. I would have to keep trying to boot from anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours before it actually booted up properly. This was a regular issue until about 2 weeks ago when it seemed to start working perfectly again and always booted up fast and normally.

But today, it happened again. This time I was able to get it to boot up properly after flipping the switch, unplugging it from the power and holding the power button for 10 seconds and then like before booted up fast and normal. But there is obviously still an issue with the PC and I need to figure out what it is.

I want to preface by saying I did not entirely build this PC myself. I purchased it from PCSpecialist and chose the parts myself and they built it. I bought the PC in July 2025 and the SSD died three months after purchasing it, so I had to send it back for repairs. When it arrived PCSpecialist told me nothing was wrong with it, despite the fact that it was unusable and was getting 95% disk usage while idle. But they did eventually find the fault, replaced the SSD and sent it back to me.

It worked perfectly until May of this year when this issue happened. I was in contact with PCSpecialist and they told me to try a few different things to figure out what the issue was. The things tried were:

- `chkdsk C: /scan`
- `sfc /scannow`
- `DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth`

It told me the chkdisk result was clean and DISM worked successfully. SFC did find a corruption and repaired it.

They then asked me to try restarting the PC three times to make sure it started fine, and it did other than the fact that my system tray was not appearing, even after restarting again a couple of times. But then the next day it started having the same issues, booting into the BIOS. Once I got the PC booted up again(after nearly 2 hours) they wanted me to use PowerShell and try something there:

- `wmic diskdrive get status,model`

However PowerShell simply told me wmic is not recognized as the name of cmdlet, fuction, script file or operable program. After informing them of this, they wanted me to try:

```powershell
Get-CimInstance -Namespace root\wmi -ClassName MSStorageDriver_FailurePredictStatus |
Select-Object InstanceName, PredictFailure
```

PowerShell again just told me this isn't a thing basically. While trying to explain that none of this was working to PCSpecialist, I then noticed they were just using AI generated responses and not actually looking at my PC specs to know what I'm even working with. I mentioned this to them and they denied it but then they started talking like a real person, so, idk lol.

Either way, they then asked me to reinstall my OS. Which I was preparing to do, but had to get a new USB for. Due to a delay with life I hadn't gotten around to doing it for a few days, but in those few days it seemed to be working fine, so I held off a little longer. Then after 2 weeks(today) it just started happening again. I made sure I backed everything up a while ago. So I am ready to reinstall the OS if need be, but I wanted to inform them that the issue happened again before I did anything.

PCSpecialist are very slow to reply(once a day if I'm lucky), so while I'm waiting for another response from them, I thought it might be a good idea to bring my issue here to see if I could get some insight from you folks.

Do any of you have any ideas what the issue might be here?

Also, here are the parts to my PC:
