Planning our first short trip. How do you create closeness without turning it into an agenda?
I'm a man in my early 30s from Hyderabad, India, about 7 months into an arranged marriage.
My wife and I are finally taking a short three day trip. No agenda, no relatives, no functions. Just two of us together.
The honest context is that my wife comes from a very conservative background and has always understood sex primarily as a means to have children. Kissing, cuddling, physical closeness as a way of bonding, these feel extremely unfamiliar to her. I've tried to be patient and non pressuring and I also miss feeling desired.
What I want is a cosy, low pressure few days where we can relax properly and with her full comfort, be closer than we manage at home. I know a trip can't undo 7 months and I'm trying not to load it with more than it can carry.
We haven't picked a destination. Somewhere quiet, real privacy, good room, decent food, walks.
For those who've maybe been in something similar, what created the right atmosphere? Is it the place, the pace, having nothing scheduled? And how did you say what you wanted without it landing as pressure?
And anything that seemed romantic in theory and was awkward in practice?
The trip will be during the end of July/Beginning of August.
Practical suggestions from real experience, please. I want this to feel right for both of us, not forced.
Thanks a lot!
