[WP] Earth is alien reality TV.(Collaborative idea, I'm not a writer. I just want to see this written.)

Aliens being an advanced enough society that they saw the conditions on earth and basically made our species as reality TV. There could be incentives for going like prisoners can go to reduce their sentence. Or like humans that just want the attention from going. Or they are bored in their lives. This could (I'd argue should) also be across timelines. Like you see some past historical event and make it fit. Like say you see one person and a year or so after they died someone was born that eventually became similar in actions/behavior to them. Perhaps after they died they went back to their planet and either someone else took it or they got notes and ideas and came back and implemented that into a new person.
