Would trucking be a good or bad fit for me?

I’m 26 and have been struggling to keep jobs over the years due to AuDHD and some social anxiety. What’s made me struggle the most was the social hierarchies at work, overstimulation, and a feeling lack of flexibility, mostly with scheduling.

I do want to work, I just know I haven’t found the right fit yet. It’s just annoying and discouraging being behind all of my peers, a lot of which have already found themselves into cushy jobs that they could maintain as a career. Meanwhile I’ve just been floating. Mostly been doing customer service/food type jobs, which I hate and have burnt out quickly in. I do DoorDash here and there, which is fine, but doesn’t pay very well.

Some people have suggested I go on disability, and I’ve been considering throwing in the towel soon and just doing that, but idk. I’m stubborn, and still feel the desire to pursue something that will help me build a more independent life, without sending me into constant meltdowns and panic.

From what I’ve read and researched so far about trucking, here’s what I think would be potential pros and cons/setbacks for me:

Pros:

- I enjoy driving, for the most part, and I’d say I’m a pretty good driver.

- I enjoy long stretches of time alone.

- I work best independently. I like to just be given instructions/assigned a task and then left tf alone.

- I’m naturally a night owl, so overnight drives would be a breeze.

Cons:

- that being said on me being a good driver /for the most part/…. I still suck at parking. I’m working on it and getting better, but still suck.

- I am small and weak and would need help lifting heavy items.

- I have struggled with being able to work long hours in the past, but this was also in jobs where I was in very overstimulating and social-oriented work environments. I’d probably do much better with more solitary work.

- I have a cat at home and don’t want to give her abandonment issues lol.

I mostly want to hear experiences from those who have been in a similar boat as me who have found fulfillment in this role. But I’m also open to hearing anyone’s advice/opinions on this regardless of background.
