Achilles rupture recovery timeline + peptides? (Week 3 update)

Title: Achilles rupture recovery timeline + peptides? (Week 3 update)

Hey everyone,

I ruptured my Achilles about 18 days ago and wanted to get some insight from people who’ve been through this.

Right now, I’m already moving around pretty well — I’m walking in the boot with a bit of a limp and I’m off crutches. It honestly feels like I’m progressing pretty quickly.

My doctor gave me a recovery plan that says I’ll be out of the boot around week 12, but I always thought most people transition into shoes closer to week 8?

So I’m a little confused:

  • Is week 12 normal for getting out of the boot?
  • When did you guys start walking in regular shoes?
  • Am I ahead, behind, or right on track being off crutches and limping at day 18?

Also, I’ve been hearing about peptides (like BPC-157, TB-500, etc.) helping with recovery.

  • Has anyone here actually used them for an Achilles tear?
  • Did it make a noticeable difference or is it overhyped?

Just trying to make sure I’m not rushing things but also not being overly conservative.

Appreciate any advice, timelines, or experiences 🙏
