Ghanaian Youtubing & Tax Compliance
Hi everyone,
I am a content creator here in Ghana, and my YouTube channel was recently monetized. As the channel is starting to grow, my main focus right now is figuring out how to handle the local tax situation properly.
I am looking to connect with other monetized Ghanaian YouTubers or digital creators who are already navigating this.
- How do you handle the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA)? Do you file your YouTube earnings under standard Personal Income Tax as a self-employed individual, or is there a specific process for foreign digital income?
- Do you file online? Are you successfully using the GRA Taxpayers' Portal for your channel's income, or did you have to go to an office to get it sorted?
- Any tips for a growing channel? Have you ever faced any issues or flags with your bank regarding your Google AdSense payouts?
I just want to make sure I am doing everything right from the start. I would love to hear from other local creators about how you handle your tax compliance.
Thanks!
