How to convince a parent who says they aren't homophobic but don't want gay kids?

Got into this discussion with a parent, who says they aren't homophobic because they "don't hate gay people" but then get disturbed when they see men kissing in public, and freaked out when their child brought up gay rights. Said everyone can act how they want but its not homophobic to not want their child to be gay. The parent is very nice to others, including other queer people, you would never know they actually didn't like them.
