I think many content marketers spend too much time fixing the wrong thing.
Whenever people talk about improving content, the conversation usually starts with the article itself.
Rewrite it....
Add keywords....
Make it longer....
Update the stats....
I know for sure those things matter, but I've found that the article is often the last thing I look at.
I want to know where it sits.
Does it support other content on the site?
Does it answer a question that's already been covered three different ways?
Is there a clear next step for the reader, or does the visit just end there?
A great article can still underperform if it's isolated.
During my auditing, I've come across websites with solid content that barely supports the rest of the site. Every article feels like its own project instead of part of something bigger.
Sometimes the biggest improvement isn't writing a better article.
It's making the articles you already have work together.
That shift has changed the way I think about content strategy.
