DX 1000 Premium S owners — how loud is your internal circulation fan? (dB measurements welcome)

Hi everyone, I own a Dry Ager DX 1000 Premium S and I'm trying to figure out if the noise level of my unit is normal or if I got a loud one.

The internal circulation fan cycles on and off as expected (intervals during both dry aging and dry curing programs), but when it runs — especially on beef programs at 0–1.5°C — it's loud enough to be heard throughout the house. Not rattling, humming, or grinding, just a constant, loud airflow/motor noise. The fan itself is the stock Liebherr-type F61-10G shaded pole motor.

My questions:

  1. When the internal fan is running, can you hear your unit from the next room? Throughout the house?

  2. If you have a sound meter app (NIOSH SLM, Decibel X, etc.), what dB(A) does your unit hit measured about 1 m / 3 ft from the front with the fan running?

  3. Has anyone received or heard of an actually different (quieter) fan revision from Dry Ager/Landig?

  4. Has anyone done a quiet fan mod (e.g., 12V Noctua conversion) and how did it affect humidity control?
