Did a mail hold.. let me know if anyone experienced similar

Bro USPS is actually so annoying 😂😂😂😂. First of all getting on the phone with an agent is impossible. Basically I leave in east village and i had a package stolen so decided to do a mail hold. getting told online that I can’t pick up them up until the end of my hold? Literally just wondering if I can pick them up mid way through my hold. Did it for an extended period just to be safe .
