Horizontal lines covering my laptop screen?

I was using my laptop when these horizontal lines spanning the entire screen just appeared out of nowhere. They go all the way up to the top of the screen and seem to sort of copy the color of things underneath upwards. I have tried updating drivers, screenshotting (the screenshot itself didn’t have these lines), and hinging the screen to see if the lines were affected. None of this helped so im inclined to believe that its a problem with the physical screen itself. The lines are evenly spaced out, quite thin, and to go with my description before, aren’t of any solid colour all the way through.

Ive had my laptop for a good few years now so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just getting old.
