TWO major things I hope GTA 6 Changes
- Gun play
I've played GTA since 1, beating 3, Vice City, Sandreas, GTA 4, GTA 4 Expansions, GTA 5, RD1 RD2 etc. Rockstar does an amazing job of story telling, and immersion, places feel real. One area I feel their games lack a TON is satisfying gun play. They've seem to rely on this weird attachment cover/lock on aim system since as long as I can remember. Even playing RD2 right now I'm not in love with the gunplay. From my memory RD1 had the best gun play to date, but was still within this system. I want gun play to feel very satisfying and rewarding to learn. Giving the player much more control and less just lock on and cycles while holding down fire. There are so many better 3rd person shooters out there that I hope in there massive 2 billion dollar budget this takes leaps and bounds over where their gunplay has been before.
TLDR : Less Lock on Aim/target swapping. More control satisfying free aim. Many games do this well, They should set the new standard for 3rd person shooters.
- Missions
MORE sandbox. Dont get me wrong, their games have always had a great "Sandbox" feel outside of mission, But Missions have always been "staged" and we all get basically the same experience. It almost feels like a big cut scene we're just playing through. It gives them great control over cinematic events happening within the mission but I feel it also dilutes the excitement and experiences. I hope in 6 we get WAY more freedom how to accomplish task and missions and the Cinematic events just happen organically. For example, if we have to take out X target. Previously it would tell us to X spot, then move to B spot, and end up at C spot, and we all take the exact same shot. I wish for it to just tell us where the target is, and its up to US to decide exactly how we want to complete the task. Sniper from a building? Drive by? Walk up in disguise with a silencer? Etc etc.
TLDR : Less staging in missions, more Freedom and sandbox gameplay/style of our own choices and decisions.
Either way I'm still excited and I'm sure GTA 6 will be a great game. These two major things though I think could really set it apart in the series.
