I am in my 40s and found a shirt I really like. Should age influence whether I wear it?

I recently came across a shirt that I genuinely like. It is a bit more modern and stylish than what I usually wear, and now I am second-guessing myself because I am in my 40s.

Part of me thinks if I like it and it fits well, I should just wear it. The other part wonders if some styles just look better on younger guys.

Do you consider age when buying clothes, or is fit and confidence all that really matter? I'd be interested to hear how other men over 40 approach this.
