No Licence No Fishing?

Hello,

I live near Drogheda and I was hoping tonget my son into (and myself back into) fishing.

I was wondering if there anywhere that I can legally fish without a licence? The sea?

Just trying to start small with himself, not right course fish or anything!

Any advice on the simplest way to get into it (legally) would be greatly appreciated!!
