Can I loosen the soil of a cannabis plant with earthworms?
I’m a complete beginner when it comes to growing cannabis. For my first plant, I unfortunately used potting soil without perlite, and now I’ve noticed that the soil in the pot has compacted and become very hard. Can I put a few earthworms in the pot to help loosen up the soil? I’d just put some chopped-up old vegetables or coffee grounds on top of the soil as food for them.
When I want to water it, I’d tap on the pot and hope they come to the surface.
Otherwise, I don’t know how to keep the soil loose long-term. Poking around in the soil with a kebab skewer every few days can’t be the answer. Plus, I’d probably end up damaging the roots.
