I think the Goner Maker answers are probably foreshadowing. Maybe there's even a "True Vessel"? Like how Undertale had the "True Name" in Chara.
A lot of answers here seem like things Dess would answer with.
For favorite food, two of the answers are "Pain" and "Cold". "Cold" is obvious, the whole family is themed around Christmas and Noelle has ice magic, but "Pain" also seems like something Dess would answer with, as she's an edgy rebellious teenager who likes watching violent movies and listening to violent songs like "Raise up your bat".
"Cold" and "Pain" also have a lot of thematic importance to Dess.
Favorite color is more basic, Red, Blue, and Green go together anyway as primary light colors, but Dess has a closet full of red human soul pillows and a red guitar which seems to be her most prized object.
It's also possible that multiple characters may have their own "choices": Perhaps Kris' favorite food is "sweet", and their favorite color, due to their association with the Cyan SOUL, connections to AQUA, and their Dark World Color would be "Cyan".
>PLEASE GIVE IT A GIFT.
>KINDNESS
MIND AMBITION BRAVERY VOICE
These are actually kinda hard to assign to Kris or Dess, as Dess is gone and Kris seems more connected to patience and bravery, but it's notable that Kindness and Bravery are here when those are two characters in Chapter 5. Actually... Both Bravery, Ory, and Kindness, Green, are always paired together.
>HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR CREATION? (IT WILL NOT HEAR.)
LOVE HOPE DISGUST FEAR
Kris would probably feel "disgust" towards themself, considering their personality and actions.
I think it's obvious that the vessel will come back in some way, the Thrash Machine is a much less important parallel to it and it comes back despite being discarded, in a rather major way, getting both a boss fight and a playable character during Giga Queen's fight, complete with unique abilities and traits depending on what you chose for it.
Even if the vessel is more of a minor character and it only gets a single boss fight or something I doubt you'd give all this pretty major content to something as inconsequential and silly as the Thrash Machine but not the literal first scene of the game that introduces the theme of "your choices don't matter" to be challenged later.
