me and my friend cant join eachother no matter what

until yesterday we've been playing together with no issues, now we suddenly cant play together at all, he cant join my session and i cant join his session, we both tried resetting our internet and changing NAT types and it still doesnt work even if both of us have an open type, so at this point we're assuming its a problem with the game, anyone else know what could be causing this?
