I have a slumlord, they aren’t paying our utility bills and yesterday we got a 30-day water shutoff notice

I called SPU immediately with the account number, and they confirmed water wouldn’t be shutoff because bill had been paid recently.

However I’ve asked the landlord for the usage documentation because they just email us numbers and that feels not legal for RUBs.

What’s my best course of action? I paid them the numbers that they asked for two days ago but I don’t feel comfortable continuing to with no transparency into what’s actually being billed, especially since they’re this delinquent on payments.

I know I could take them to small claims but frankly I don’t have the time or energy. And I don’t need the money. I’m just tired of a slumlord profiting off me.
