UCSC transfer looking for work

I’m moving to town August 1st, and had a job lined up at the boardwalk which I was excited about.

However, the hiring manager forgot about the interview and didn’t show up, so they said they would reschedule. After I got no reply for a while, I followed up and they said the position is filled.

Now I’m kinda back at square one. I will be living in Boulder creek, so I will be a little out of the way of a lot of opportunities but I do have a vehicle. I need to secure employment toward the beginning of August which is a challenge in itself as every employer wants someone to work immediately.

Any advice?
