we'll be only me and him abroad while waiting for our nikah documents
Salam sisters.
Wanted to ask for some advice because I'm feeling a bit anxious and confused about my situation. (revert, 21 from europe)
We met while studying abroad in January, but I was only there as an exchange student, so after only 2 weeks of knowing each other I had to return to my home country. Since then we've been talking in long distance with the intention of marriage involving our families in all the calls.
We're getting married next month in a third country that is foreign to both of us. We will both travel there alone, without our families, a wali, or any mahrams with us. After submitting our papers, we'll have to wait about 10 days before the marriage can actually take place.
i'm wondering how our approach would be during that waiting period. Since we won't be married yet, would it be acceptable for us to stay in the same apartment if we slept in separate rooms or separate beds? Is it better for us to stay in completely separate accommodation until the nikah is done? Also, I know we should not be too comfortable around each other as we are not married, but we know that we enjoy each other's company and even considered spending some time together before our nikah, with boundaries of course, as we are all alone in a new country.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or could recommend me how to behave?
I ask God to protect you all
