Need Advice.. I've been unknowingly using Blades (Ping S57) for 8+ years

I'm roughly a 16 handicap and can smack the shit out of the ball. Only thing is, I'm not very consistent and I'm curious if I should switch to a more traditional iron set such as Callaway Apex or something along those lines. My iron game is good but I don't golf enough to deal with the nuances of blades etc.
