Is it still considered controversial to hold religious views on LGBTQ+ while being respectful?

General

I’ve been trying to figure out where the line is lately. My fa.ith teaches that the concept of LGB.TQ+ is a s.in, but I fundamentally believe in treating everyone with total re spect and kindness regardless.

It’s not that I hate anyone for the sake of it—why would I? It’s just that I can't personally agree with the idea itself because my reli.gion doesn't allow for it, as far as I know. Sometimes it feels like those two things—holding that religi ous belief and being a respectful person—can’t exist in the same person without being labeled homo.phobic.

Is it still considered controversial to hold those traditional views if my actions are always based on kindness and respecting everyone’s humanity? I’m just trying to navigate how to balance my f.aith and upbri.nging while living in a diverse world in 2026.
