I don’t want my hotel room to be cleaned every day

The first thing I do when I check into a hotel is hang the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door—and it stays there for my entire stay. Maybe that's weird, but I have my reasons.

For one, I don't really understand the obsession with having the bed made every day. If I'm staying for four nights, I'm perfectly happy sleeping in the same sheets the whole time. The same goes for towels—I don't see the point of replacing them every day. It just seems unnecessary.

The biggest reason, though, is that I don't like the idea of a stranger coming into my room while I'm away, with all of my personal belongings left there. I tend to spread out—I live out of my suitcase, drape clothes over chairs, and generally make myself at home. The thought of someone seeing all my stuff lying around and tidying it up just makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

Anybody else feeling that way?
