saved up for a pedal in the 200-300ish range. torn between gx-1b and zoom b2 four. any advice?
The main genres I'd wanna play is really bass heavy death metal/industrial metal. so stuff that can apply a lot of powerful drive and distortion- but also I'd like to play jazz, so more subtle effects, eqing, ocmp etc (Think ECM style jazz). maybe some weirder eclectic sounding stuff (both have glitch and slice it seems like, which is good)
I've heard mixed things about both pedals effects, with people complaining and praising the effects in equal amounts (lots of "its replaced myt expensive pedalboard! or "the sounds are cheap and thin" for both multi-effects pedals). both have associated apps that make editing their presets easier.
I've also heard the zoom has an XLR out which would be good if I'd like to play live, and the gx-1b doesn't, but the gx-1b also simulates speaker cabs, which the zoom b2 four doesn't.
for what its worth I've previously owned a boss ME-50b and found it very underwhelming in distortion, but solid compress and drive effects, with a mixed bag on reverb/chorus delay. I'm also worried that you can only stack 3 effects on the gx-1b, but (seemingly, though im a little confused) more on the zoom b2 four.
has anyone owned both or either and has any input?
