Stage Breakdown

Hello everyone and welcome to the 7th stage of the Tour de France.

If you have errands to run, to them tomorrow.

We start from Hagetmau, apparently it's a small town, I went in vacations in the Landes plenty when I was a kid I never heard about that town. Stage is uninteresting, First 40km are framlands, the rest of the stage is the Landes forest. You might run into an occasional duck fram for the Foie Gras, that's about it. I'm exagerrating a bit, we get into wine country at the end, don't ask me questions about it I hate nearly everything made from grapes.

The finale is as straight forward as they go, the final 4k alongside the Garonne, in a slight curve with a more prononced curve at 2k to go, it's set up to be a sprint royal, with everyone there, except if they are falls, which will definitely happen.

With that in mind here are our predictions:

★★★ Kooij, Merlier, Philipsen

★★ Fretin, Kanter, Pedersen, Girmay

★ Waerenskjold, Bauhaus, Bittner

Kooij did well in the mess of the first sprint. Is he able to reproduce that in a more straight forward stting? I'm not sure.

Merlier lost his leadout man (who doesn't really lead him out but rather position him in the train of his choosing) which may cause positionnal issues, but that's a thing we will have to see for ourselves. Philipsen has in theory the best leadout in the world, but is he the best in the world currently?

That's it for us, what is your prediction for the stage?
