Made redundant, thinking of walking the Primitivo end of July. Is it worth it that time of year?

Question

Recently made redundant, so I finally have the time to do something that’s been on my bucket list for years. I want to walk the Camino before I start a new role.

I’ve got my eye on the Primitivo starting from Oviedo end of July, 13 days of walking, staying in albergues,

The only thing putting me off is the timing. Everyone says spring or September for this route, but I don’t want to sit around waiting for the perfect month when I’ve got the time now.

So for anyone who’s done the Primitivo in late July or August, was it worth it? Or would you honestly wait?

Do you think is doable and and tips would be greatly appreciated

- I have read a lot of the wiki but wanted to ask anyway
