Clarification on the Amex Gold Resy Credit: $150 possible?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to wrap my head around the Resy credit on the Amex Gold card and want to make sure I’m not misunderstanding how it works.
I know the benefit is "$50 semi-annually, up to $100 per calendar year." My confusion is about how this interacts with my membership year versus the calendar year.
If I maintain my membership for a full 12 months, am I correct in assuming I can technically get $150 in credits over that specific 12-month period?
For example:
- Months 1-4 (Mar-Jun): Use the 1st semi-annual $50 credit.
- Months 5-10 (Jul-Dec): Use the 2nd semi-annual $50 credit.
- Months 11-12 (Jan-Mar of the following year): Use the new calendar year's first semi-annual $50 credit.
I realize that within any single calendar year (Jan-Dec), I am strictly capped at $100. But if I time my membership correctly, it seems like I can bridge two different calendar years to get three "payouts" of $50 while only holding the card for one year.
Is that accurate, or is there a "clawback" or restriction I’m missing? Any insights from those who have done this would be appreciated!
