Fiancé thinks having a DJ at our wedding is a huge waste of money…
We’re having a small wedding of about 60 people. My fiancé is from Australian and I’m from the states, and I’ll be moving to AU after. Because we have the most expensive visa in the world to pay for, we’re really trying to not spend a lot on our wedding.
However, I do think a DJ is essential. I believe they’re the main form of entertainment and they keep the night organized and flowing.
My fiancé is super against DJ’s saying “I’m not paying someone a thousand dollars+ to just push buttons when we can bring our own speakers and have someone in charge of the playlist”
I think it’s cringe to have one of my family members of friends be in charge of the playlist all night, when we could just have a DJ.
It’s actually causing a huge source of contention and stressing me out.
I’m sure everybody will be talking about us if we don’t get a DJ. Most weddings I’ve been to have both bands and DJ’s.
Has anyone dealt with this?
