Tips for managing skin irritation with ace wrap

I'm being good about wearing my ace wrap binder all the time except when showering, but as a result I've developed growing discomfort and redness on my sides where the wrap sits against my skin. I've tried putting smaller dressings in those areas to act as a buffer, but they don't seem to help much. What should I do to soothe and protect the areas? I don't want it to progress into full skin breakdown
