Is this grounds for defamation?
Location: **MASSACHUSETTS**
So in my small farm town, there was an incident in the elementary involving a trans girl and a cis girl. Since this happened and has been dealt with, the town has put it upon themselves to post signs with transphobia undertones and straight saying homophobic comments about this trans child and LGBT Community in general.
After watching endless of adults bullying a 9 year old for being trans, constantly misgendering and saying the LGBT community should be in psych wards, I spoke out about how this isn’t okay and we are grown adults, they should stop making up stories and stop saying phobic things.
Hence the town has pitched forked at me, saying very nasty things. They have said “your kind doesn’t belong here” “you people” and very derogatory terms at me, a Hispanic in an all white town. I was told I should read “Rosa Parks, MLK” and others work so I “can be humble”. When I pointed out that these historic figures have stood up against the majority that cause the segregation and hate and got bullied c harassed and killed for doing so and that’s exactly what I was doing, standing up against the majority.
Since then, I’ve been blocked from the group. I would’ve left it there but I’ve been publicly shamed, called things that I am not and I am not welcomed in a town I grew up in. They have threaten to go to peoples houses who been standing up against the tyrant group to “check and see if they own guns” as a gun owner, which I find a bit threatening.
My whole legal name has been displayed and humiliated. I have screen shots of almost everything they claim is true about me and screen shots of people actively defending my character and person.
Is this grounds for defamation on the people who keep making false claims and attacking my character wrongfully, making it hard to be in a community I grew up in?
