A long walk home...

Random
  1. 30 PM today found me still waiting for payment for work done this week, but it didnt happen. The client 'beat a corner' and became 'mteja'. Saitan!

I had to borrow a little cash from a friend just so I didn't go home empty-handed.

Now walking, home bound, head held high, with a precious package in my rucksack.

I have nyama ya 150 bob and a packet of buns. Not much, but the taste of meat in the greens, and some Royko cube will have the little ones licking their fingers. Buns for breakfast will be a big respite from ugali.

Honestly, borrowing feels exactly like begging. And begging is the absolute lowest point. It is just humiliating and it strips you of your dignity kabisa. But I'm focusing on the win, putting a meal on the table for my family.

Dear gentle reader, do whatever it takes to never be the person who has to ask for help. It’s a rough place to be.

I am currently living proof that pride doesn't buy ka-nyama, but it sure makes the walk home feel a whole lot lighter!
