Axle seal replacement

2018 2nd gen Cruze, doing passenger side axle seal- should I drop the lower control arm or just the strut Mount bolts on the knuckle to get the axle out?

I would prefer the strut Mount if possible as I'm sure that lower ball joint is pretty stuck in there
