Looking for a parking spot outside your private business
Good day FoCo, kind of an odd request here but I'd like to rent a spot next to your private business. It wouldn't be full-time, overnights only, and we'd essentially be ghosts and completely gone before you even arrive at your shop to open up in the morning.
Why? I spent the last five years developing a piece of software that I just launched. Across those years I rescued a pitbull that wondered out of the forest on me. Now I absolutely love this dog but my lease ended literally the month my product launched.
Which left me scrambling when I found out my landlord was moving back into the home and I couldn't renew my stay. I just wasn't focused on anything but launch after all that time and completely missed how long I had left.
So we (my wife and the pup) packed up our stuff in a storage unit and figured it'd be a life adventure to find a new spot and manage the business on the road. Wow, let me tell you, it's been a fun journey.
I was blissfully unaware that if you have an American Staffordshire Terrier nobody in Colorado, Wyoming, or Nebraska will rent to you. Its an entire insurance related top down issue where managers literally apologize to us and say their hands are tied.
Now I super appreciate all the advice, but let me save you the time, no I'm not faking this dog as an emotional support dog, nor a well trained service dog, nor am I getting him therapy and claiming he's in distress.
He's a loving, fun to be around, wiggle from the middle, pitbull. No ifs, ans, or buts, thats what he is. He's not a danger to anyone but he can be a box of rocks, that's who he is, he's a dog.
Now love it or hate it, we've been on the hunt for a new place to call home for a couple months now. Outside of crackhead trailers and burnt out trap houses we're apparently up the creek on this one.
In the mean time we've seen the national parks, visited all the hotels, and in general burnt most of our savings on the hunt for a new place.
Also it's pretty severely impacted my business as I just cant sit down and work it 40+ hours a week like I should be.
Instead, to make ends meet, we've picked up gig working 12+ hours a day. So we're just out here in the heat grinding 60-70 hour weeks clocking dollars.
This pretty much has to end because as much as I love the transient population I'm over folks trying to stick their arms through my windows at night to steal even the most trivial of items like a hat.
So to me, the next best thing would be a bit of privacy and a spot to get some rest thats unimpeded by drug addicts and law enforcement.
Which dont get me wrong, we're not complaining the cops are out there sweeping the camps. We just don't want to get caught up in all that nonsense as we're not drug addicts and actually proud working citizens of Fort Collins.
We shower at our local gym, we're clean people, we really dont want to be inside or around your business at all outside of setting down at night. Ideally you'd have a rest room we could use but thats all that's required.
Couple decades back I was a welder, so I was thinking a metal shop would be perfect. I drive until I cant read addresses anymore so we'd roll in late after you're done for the day then bounce at sunrise before you even open the bay doors.
Not asking for anything free, we've got money and are happy to pay our way. If that sounds great to you please send us a message and we'll meet up with you.
Thanks for your time FoCo, /cheers.
