Mom says I'll scare off my partner!?

Hey everyone, I just started dating somebody and my mom found out. She said I need to be dating someone in the medical field because "normal" people can't handle my manic episodes. Once I get manic I'll scare off my partner. Can someone please affirm that isn't true? I call BS.
