Washing Hands / 5 Months?

At what age do you think it is “crazy” to ask people to wash their hands before holding your baby. My baby is 5 months and we have always asked visitors to wash their hands before holding our baby. She has not yet been to daycare. We have an family event tomorrow and my MIL is already telling us “everyone is going to want to hold the baby so maybe you guys can hold hand sanitizer so everyone doesn’t have to walk all the way to the bathroom”. The MIL giving her unsolicited advice is a whole other issue we will not get into.😅 I know it it ultimately up to us and what we are comfortable with but I’m genuinely curious to hear others opinions!
